New Sunshine Program will promote solar energy, create 'green' jobs in Pa.
News from Rep. Bryan R. Lentz
A new state grant program will encourage the use of solar energy and bring more "green" jobs to Pennsylvania.
In about two weeks, the $80 million Pennsylvania Sunshine Program is expected to begin accepting applications for solar energy projects that generate, distribute or store solar energy, as well as from businesses that manufacture or assemble solar panels or other solar equipment.
The program is part of the Alternative Energy Investment Fund, which I voted for last year. The Pennsylvania Sunshine Program is just one of the programs available through the $650 million fund. For more information on the program, or to find out if you qualify, visit the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Web site.
As always, please contact me if you need assistance with this or any state-related matter.
